Total delivery cost at Union Hospital

Hi,

Can anybody let me know how much is the total delivery cost (vaginal delivery) at Union Hospital, in a standard room?. I have an idea about how much the doctor would charge, and got the pamphlet from the hospital with the basic charges. But I am just afraid that there would be lot of hidden costs, and the sum of all costs would be bigger than our budget.

Hi Gataloca,

I delivered at UH 2 weeks ago, but I had an emergency c-section on a bank holiday. I paid a little over 50K. Dunno how much it is for a spontaneous delivery tho. There may always be unexpected costs. My little one needed Phototherapy for 2 days. Also, they charge you for everything, like syringes, blood tests, etc. I think what's free tho is the formula.

50K is not that much, considering that you had an emergency C-section. I guess it would be less for a natural delivery... Our company just changed the insurance plan, and we are afraid that it may not cover all the maternity cost... and we would have to put lot of money on our own. I would happily switch to a public hospital, but we already paid for the deposit at UH, which is not refundable.

Anyway, how was your general experience at the hospital?
