Toddler and stroller

I have a 3 year old (just turned 3) and an 11 month old. We have one stroller which the one year old uses. My 3 year old doesn't use it anymore except when we went to Disneyland for the whole day a few weeks ago and she sat in it for a while when she was really tired and towards the end of the day when she fell asleep.

We are planning a 2 months trip to the US and Canada this summer. Sometimes we will be out the whole day with the kids and I wonder if I should get a cheapie stroller for these all day (zoo, amusement park, touristy stuff...) outings? I don't want to accumulate more stuff though and will only buy it if I think it's going to be of good use. If we weren't going on such a trip, I would not buy one. I have $1000 coupon from Bumps 2 Babes so I will use it for it if I decide it's necessary.

I was thinking that after the 15 hr flight, she will probably want to sit in one (it's quite a bit of a walk in an airport and it'd be hard to carry either one of them with all the hand luggages we have).

Do you think a 3 year old is too old for a stroller? Any recommendation on good easy to use stroller (prefer an easily collapsible one cos the one I have is not easy to use).

it's really up to you, but i think most people kind of like the walk after a 15 hour flight.

if i were you, i'd try to find a cheap used double stroller, especially if you are only buying it for this trip. the resale value of cheaper strollers is not great, so you'll take a hit on that. also, that way you can use your $1000 coupon for other goodies.

Double Stroller

I have done similiar trips with my kids, similiar ages to yours. I used a double stroller, a side by side McClaren. Both kids either sat in it, or if the older one wanted to walk I would stick the hand luggage on the spare seat. I have also done similiar trips using my double Phil and Ted. When I only took the single, thinking my eldest would walk, he refused to wake up! Slight problem - especially when I was travelling alone at the time with both. I think it is best sometimes just to be prepared.

as a matter of fact, i just realised that i have a workable double (front and back) that you can have for $200. it is not beautiful(rather faded) to look at, but it is fully functional and i basically only used it for a trip similar to yours. (my two were 2 & newborn).

let me know if you are interested.
