Yes you can. But there is a consent form that both yourself, your husband & doctor will need to sign. Between Union Hospital & my doctor they were able to order some sperms for us from a Cryobank in California

The reproductive unit in Union Hospital Sha Tin can help you out with the forms..etc. They are able to store & process 3rd party sperms. Their website address is www.union.org

Choobe- thanks for the info. I have a friend who'se looking for this service. She's already speant over $100 000 having IVF before the docs said that she can't conceive with her husbands sperm. Could you tell me the approximate cost for this service (ordering the sperm etc, but no IVF required)+ first consulation cost. Thanks alot!

I spent about HKD39,000 but this includes storage fees for 1 year, payment for 8 vials of sperm and the cost of delivery from California to HK.

If you were planning on IVF the vials of sperm can be reduced. We had our 1st IUI about 2 months ago. The cost was around HKD2,000 for that particular consultation and the cost for processing the sperms.

so i take it that a KNOWN donor is allowed?

thanks for the tip, choobe...
so i take it that a KNOWN donor is allowed? were the sperm you acquired from a known source? or was it anonymous?
i'm curious, because my husband might be the cause...

Known Donor should be cheaper but ours is anonymous. I had to order from California Cyrobank as it was the only way we could get hold of Caucasian sperms.

Donor sperm

Hi Choobe,
Thanks for your emails, can you recommend a doctor and hospital? I am in Shanghai and my poor doctor has tried so hard to get sperm imported for us, but the health ministry will not allow. We also need caucasian sperm. I have a free place to stay in HK so I will plan to go there for treatments instead.
