I noticed some kind of red marks on my son's back. Its very itchy and when he itches it leaves a scar.looks like an insect bite but am quite sure they arent.wonder if its the heat.tried applying J&J baby powder but no change.
Has anyone else come across this?
noi idea what else it can be?
thanx

try calamine lotion.it calms the skin & make it less itchy. it worked wonders for me when i was a small child & now it works for my 2 year old. i put calamine lotion & wait for it to dry, then put baby powder on top.

how old is he? & does he eat beef? cos i once had a chinese doc who told me that it's easy to tell if a person eats a lot of beef. their back is bound to have some pimples, itchy onces. the more beef or fried food a person eats, the more "pimples" there are on their back.

thanx Joanne for ur reply.
He is three. His skin is very dry so at nites i apply aqueous cream and before bath i apply oil and let be for 15-20mnts.In our place we used sesame oil.
Does lactocalamine act as a moisturiser too?
So i do it like u do it for ur baby?
Thanx a lot Joanne for ur very useful input.

i don't kow what lactocalamine is, so i can't tell you the difference.

my daughter's skin is also very dry & i've tried tons of different organic/batural creams & oil. i've never try aqueous cream altho i heard it's very good. now i use sesame oil for her. i got it online from www.youthingstrategies.com. i use the "face & body oil" & both my husband & i find the smell very relaxing. i use the "baby oil" for my daughter. there's no smell for the baby oil, but i put some essential oils for baby's sleep in it. i can't find pure sesame oil in hk, and i think even if there is, it's gonna be outrageously expensive cos half of the retail price goes to the rent in HK.

i find sesame oil work best. =)

Hai Joanne,
I buy the seame oil from the indian store in TST.Yeah i find it best too.

Lactocalamine is calamine itself.Cud u tell me if this calamine can be applied everyday after bath?

When do u apply sesame oil on ur baby before bathing?
Iread that the skin replenishes and new cells come in during the night thats why i apply aqueous at night. Its pretty good.
