Thawing and warming up baby food

When we thaw and heat up food from the freezer for adults, we usually heat it up until it's steaming hot in order to kill bacteria and avoid food poisoning. Why do all of the books on weaning say that after thawing frozen baby food it should only be heated until it's lukewarm? Obviously, I don't want to burn baby's mouth, but isn't there a risk of food poisoning?

If it is already cooked, I don't see why you would need to make it steaming hot. I used to pull out my frozen baby food icecubes the night before and leave in the fridge. Then the next day I can just heat to the temperature I want and feed it too the baby. There is no reason shy the food would have to been heated to steaming to kill bacteria.

I never reheat the food, I'd rather throw it away, but if I really have to I think reheat it until it's steaming hot and let it cool down is better because the fridge contains germs as well unless you have your fridge sterilized and does not contain any raw meat or anything.
