my doc tor has advised me to get this testing done......i am seeing a pvt doc and she gave me the address for the testing centre which is charging me around 2000 hkd.
can i go to a any public hospital and get it done?.
do i require my doc refferal letter for this test?
what would be the charges at the public hospital?
please advise.
 
I remember paying HKD1400 for a blood test to screen down syndrome. Not sure if it is the same test being recommended by your doctor. The test was in the private Clinic were my doctor is affiliated.
 
Pinklet, if you are over 35 years of age, you can have the blood test done for free under the public system (at least I know this is true of the Tsan Yuk hospital). If you are under 35, then as far as I know, the only way to get tested is through a private clinic.
