Termination of DH Contract

Hi,

I hope someone can help me with my questions on releasing my helper. I've annoyed with calls from loan sharks!!

1. When is the starting date of the contract? Is it the day printed on HK Immigration sticker on her passport (permission to remain from xxx to xxx)? Or the date when I and my helper signed the contract?

2. Since this termination results from my helper's behavior, I am not responsible for severance payment even in the third year of employment, right?

Hi, I suggest you contact the agency to check. Based on my understanding, you will have to bring the helper back to the agency and provide a reason for the severance of the contract. However, you need to provide her with one month notice, if you do not want to do that, then you need to provide her with one month's pay in lieu of notice.
