Teacher's Day

September 10 is the Teacher's Day in Hong Kong. Could mothers of other schoolers tell me whether it's taken seriously here and do the students usually give cards/little gifts to the teachers?

Our son's at an ESF Kindie and his teachers last year didn't realise it was Teacher's Day in HK. But we gave them a small box of chocolates and a thank you card each anyway to let them know how grateful we were to have a team of teachers who were so dedicated to their jobs.
