Taking baby to the UK this X'mas

I would like to ask for recommendation (Do / Don't) and preparation for taking my 4 months old (now, will be 6 month in X'mas) baby to the UK this X'mas. She's my first baby, it's my first trip on the plane with her and I have absoluely no experience of being/having a child in the cold country.
