symptoms

MayC and MickeyMom, was really crossing everything for you and am sorry that this was not your month. Don't forget there is always next month, I know it is so so hard but please stay positive.

I would recommend Dr Ghosh from my own experience, but he is very difficult to get an appointment with. Try Sally Ferguson, I have heard really good things about her.

All the best to you both, I really feel for you xxx

would you consider taking 'pak foong yun' from eu yan sang to regulate the menstrual cycle?

hi reei,

what is "pak foong yun" and how does it help regulate the menstrual cycle? have you tried it before? I am open to trying but need to understand how it works.

also, where is eu yan sang?

thanks

hi turtle- thanks for your support. helps a lot.

MayC and Mickey,

Am really sorry too. Please keep your spirits up. I would highly recommend Dr Derek Lo. He's very caring and wants to help women TTC. I've seen women come in for scans a couple times a month to check their ovulation. Have heard he doesn't even charge for the scans.

HI Rani-
Thanks again for the concern and for lifting my spirits.

Will try to see Dr. Derek Lo next weekend. My GP suggests I get an ultrasound as well as hormone test to sort out what is going on in my system.

thanks

mickeymum,

eu yansang is a brand name. popular for chinese herbs. pak fung yun is pill that most chinese ladies will take after the end of period. usually take two pills at night before sleep in two consecutive nights. to "strengthen" the vagina and regulate the menstrual cycle.
u can get the pak foong yun from mannings or watson. most pak fung yun are for "invigorate the vital energy, nourish the blood , regulate the menstruation and stop leukorrhea". i would suggest u take the pills after menstruation, but don't take it after u try to conceive. in case if you have conceived, don't take the chinese herbs.
good luck .. to you and me..:)

the disappointment allow me to see what some women go thru in miscarriage. can u imagine, i am already so disappointed , what more for those who conceived and had miscarriage.. this is just so sad.
oh, well girls, let's enjoy the process of trying.. buy a sexy lingerie, have candlelight dinner and just enjoy what we have now. if i do get pregnant good , if not,, let it be.

I called Dr. Derek Lo's clinic this morning and earliest appointment I got was for Aug 4. His receptionist sounded very nice and acommodating, far from the others i've had a chance to talk to before. I felt good right away.

thanks for the reco Rani. Have read the reviews about Dr. Lo in this site and feel comfortable seeing him.

Hi,

I did one treatment cycle with Dr. Derek Lo, it was all ok... he was nice and I was happy with him... did a few scans, took HCG shot to burst the follicle. Did not get pregnant... (no bid deal as it is normal), but during and right after that cycle I had terrible abdominal pain, really bad, and then my periods became very erractic, lots of mid cycle bleeding, bleeding during intercourse... so went to see him about that.

He did not hear me, just said after every phrase of mine "the pain was the ovulation" (I did not take any drug for the ovulation, just to burst the follicle I naturally had), "even if you have something else like endometriosis no point in making examinations for that... your cure is to get pregnant" (with the same treatment he did before).

I am not one to complain of pain easily, I consider myself very though for that. But he would simply not listen to me, he sounded like a pre-recorded tape playing the same thing over and over again! You have to do another cycle, your cure is to get pregnant.

I don't want to keep in the dark, I want to know what was causing that terrible pain and mid cycle bleedings!! I want to get pregnant but I want to be healthy as well!!

I think Dr. Derek is good as long as you don't expect/want/need anything else apart from scans, ovulation drugs, HCG shots, IUI...

So basically changed doctors, to one that was actually willing to hear what I was saying.

Again, if the person just needs the list of treatments he has to offer, he is good, nice, his nurses are VERY nice!!

mborges-
sorry to hear about your bad experience with Dr. Derek Lo. While it is good to hear recommendations (positive), it is always better to hear the other side to help me evaluate fairly. I will still go ahead with my consultation with Dr. Lo, and like you I expect to be heard. I also do not want to be rushed into any treatment/therapy until I fully understand what is going on with my body. I hope I have a good discussion with him.
Who is the doctor you are seeing now?

Hi!

I got really scared with the abdominal pain I felt and the following erratic bleedings + camps. So after seeing Dr. Derek Lo I went to see my family doctor (Sarah Borwein), I didn't know where to turn and she had always been so helpful that I decided to get some advice from her.

She listened to me and after analyzing my situation (2 years trying to conceive, all possible tests done and no apparent reason why I would not get pregnant, abdominal pain, erratic bleeding, huge period cramps) we decided that a laparoscopy was a good idea to see what was going on, endometriosis was a possibility.

So she refered me to Dr. Grace Cheung. Dr. Grace is very sweet and was very helpful; I end up having the laparoscopy which showed some signs of recent infection in the connective tissue of my uterus. There was nothing to do about that as the good thing was the scar tissue was nowhere where it would jeopardize my chances of conception. During the laparoscopy I also had a HSG and curettage to make sure I was in top shape for conception.

It's been 2 months since my laparoscopy; my periods are getting much more regular and no mid cycle bleeding. I decided to try naturally for a few more months, if doesn't happen I will have to look for another fertility specialist...

As for Dr. Derek, I expected that if he could not help me because it was not his specialty, he would at least refer me to another doctor. I would certainly respect him more for that then just playing down on the terrible physical pain I felt.

:gl: for us!

Hi mborges

thank you so much for your feedback. It is very helpful. I hope I have a better experience with Dr. Derek Lo.

i'm also trying to get pregnant with my #2. it took me over a year to get pregnant with the first one. went to western doctors and they said i was all fine inside. my friend took me to a chinese med doc...i was extremely skeptical because i hate to drink those nasty things and didn' tknow if it helps. doc told me i had a lazy ovary and that it would be difficult to get pregnant... something that western docs can't see. so i thought what the hell and took the chinese meds for 6 weeks. i was pregnant immediately after that. chinese med doc even said it would be 100% a girl...which turned out to be correct. he even said the next one if i wanted a boy he can change the meds around...very skeptical about that. anyhow....if you are interested in going to a chinese med doc...let me know and i can give you the number. he is excellent. quite scary too...just feels your pulse and tells you whats wrong with your body...no need to say anything to him. if i dont get pregnant within the next 2 months, i'll probably go see him again. im on a crazy menstrual schedule as well...sometimes 30 days...last time 45 days.

Dr. Zhou
He is located in North Point...don't get scared off by his office. He is a taiwanese doctor...quite young. It is extremely difficult to get an appointment with him. Usually I have to wait 3 weeks until I can see him. And even with an appointment, you have to go there and get a number....the usual wait is anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours! Yes...I've waited 4 hours two times. I hear that some people give "gifts" to the reception lady so you get a number earlier. I haven't tried it...hm....probably why I wait 4 hrs. hahah...anyhow, the number is: 2807-0052. OH...he doesn't speak any english...so try to bring someone who can speak chinese. I think the office visit is 60 HKG and for one week of chinese medicine it is around 700 HKG. Office visit is free if you need chinese med. Most people that I know who went to him got pregnant very fast....I know of one person who wanted to have a boy...took the "boy" meds and still had a girl. So...who knows? I believe most of his patients are cancer patients. You don't need to tell him your problem. He just feels your pulse and will tell you everything that is going on in your body...if there are any problems. It's kinda scary....I was very skeptical about chinese meds...but it got me pregnant and it got rid of my allergy problems. Very interesting...maybe coincidental??? Not too sure.

I'm worried! I'm supposedly 6 weeks pregnant, but I went for my first scan yesterday and the doctor said the baby looks 5-weeks. He said either the baby isnt growing or I ovulated late. I'm so scared now and have been trying to stay positive. My cycles range from 32-40 days and I seriously think I ovulated late.

My last initimate session with my husband was July 3rd...gals what do you think? I'm so stressed and the doctor says there's nothing he can do until I go back next week. He says as long as the baby is growing then it's fine, so I won't know till next Thursday.

I have no pregnancy symptoms either. When I was carrying my daughter I was puking for the first two months...

HELP? Should I be worried, anyone experience this before?
