Suggestions for migrating from formula to regular milk

My baby is one now and can finally graduate to cow's milk. Can anyone provide suggestions on brands?

I'm a bit prejudice towards local/china brands. My ped suggested "Pura" - which she said was Austrailian. I have not yet investigated and would like other parents' take on this.

My DD drinks Pura whole milk starting from about 18 months. The transition was surprisingly smooth for us. She seems to like the taste. Once when our supermarket ran out of Pura, I tried giving her Dairy Farm whole milk and she drank that too.

Upon my health visitors advice I went on the Pauls UHT milk (whole milk). My little one has had no problems, also great for storing and travelling as it keeps in a cupboard until opened, so you can have loads indoors so you never need to run out. Comes in mini cartoons too which never need to be warmed up as at room temp already.....great for the plane!!!!

I'd like to ask about the difference of the milk that does not require fridge storage vs. those that don't. Does anyone know the difference? The ones that are stored in the fridge 'seems' 'fresher' and hence 'better'? but is that really true? Of course, the ones that does not require refridgeration does provide a LOT more convenience.

DD just moved to Kowloon Dairy Fresh Milk, and it's getting to be quite a pain to have to get a new carton every other day... comments?

I don't know the difference only that it has been heat treated. I have noticed that the pura brands of milk have a really long shelf life and its supposed to be fresh milk, it can stay in the fridge for a couple of weeks without passing its sell by date.....think i would rather the Pauls.

We had an emergency situation the other day, our DH didn't inform us that we've run out of formula... so we had to use Kowloon Dairy's "Fresh Milk". Bub didn't have an issue with it. And when we were at Disney over Easter, and couldn't find anything healthy-ish for him to eat, we bought a packet of treated milk for him as dinner. He enjoyed that too.

Initially on both instances we were skeptical as Aussies, we were simply biased to what we are familiar with.. i.e. any Aussie brands we know. Now that I know that bub didn't have a reaction to Kowloon Dairy, we use it as when it is needed. Otherwise, we still use formula as I'm not confident enough to go all the way with "regular milk"
