Stranger Danger (for mums and mums to be)

Dear mums

In light of what's gone on in one of our group meetings, I'd like to highlight the importance of stranger danger in your individual group meets. We always warn our kids on the importance of stranger danger but often forget how important this message is for adults too (especially new mums to HK/mums to be/all other mums too!)

Just to remind mums how important it is to protect your privacy when meeting a person for the first time.

(1) Do not give out your phone number. Ask for theirs instead.
(2) Do not divulge information to a person who doesn't seem to want to share any information.
(3) Do not meet a new person you've gotten to know online (from any mothers website - as proven by that woman who got killed in HK last year by another who pretended to be!) alone. Meet in a group in a public place.
(4) Do not give out your personal details to a person you've met online.
(5) Given that this is a parent's website, ensure that the person you meet is actually a parent/is pregnant.
(5) Trust your gut instinct!

Does anyone else has any other advice regarding (adult) stranger danger? Please share as I think the mums on this website need a timely reminder.

Cheers!
