Statutory holidays

Statutory Holidays are

# the first day of January;
# Lunar New Year's Day;
# the second day of Lunar New Year;
# the third day of Lunar New Year;
# Ching Ming Festival;
# the first day of May;
# Tuen Ng Festival;
# the day following the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival;
# Chung Yeung Festival;
# Chinese Winter Solstice Festival or Christmas Day (at the option of the employer);
# the first day of July; and
# the first day of October

We give all the public holidays to our helper as we get them all from our company.... - is there any reason why only 12 of them are 'statutory'

By law Helpers are entitled to Statutory holidays only. It's entirely up to you if you give your helper more.

Bit confused re Chinese New Year hols this year 2008 - which days do the helpers get off then? Is is the Thursday, Friday and Saturday? Please let me know if possible. Thank you.

Good to know thanks Rani - so it is 4 days in a row really - including their regular Sunday off - Thank you!!
