"Statutory holidays are paid after 3 months of employment."

-does this mean you need to pay them or does this mean they take a paid day-off? thanks

you just pay them their normal monthly wage and they get the PH off. Simple as that. There is no extra payment, its just they got the day off work but didn't have anything deducted from their pay

DHs are entitled to the day off on all statutory holidays (or an agreed substitute day), but are only entitled to be paid for them after they've completed 3 months of service. (This is the case for all employees, under the Employment Ordinance.)

So, if a DH has not yet worked for 3 months, then she should get the day off and technically an employer can deduct a day's pay - BUT it would seem rather mean and petty to do so. I think a lot of DHs just don't get stat hols off in their first 3 months, but they are supposed to.

Our employer will start soon, and I just wondering about Xmas. Obviously She will have the 25th off,but somebody told me if Xmas day falls on a Sunday, they are entitled to have the 26th and 27th Dec off. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!
