Hi ladies,

Well there won't be any of us in December yet but there must be a few people on the forum due in Oct at least... i am due Oct 10th - at the moment anyway, i'm sure that will change.

Am going private for consultations and public for the birth at Queen Elizabeth since my hubby and i live on the dark side.

How is everyone's morning sickness going - mine is not just morning for me! And i have awful cramping but have had this checked everything is fine. Looking forward to 12 weeks when i can go public i hate keeping the exciting news to myself!

Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy.
I'm due Oct 12 with my 1st and am so excited! I'm also waiting for the end of my 1st trimester to shout it out to the world; it just seems like forever to wait, though.

Hi LFK,

Thanks for the reply... Congrats on yours too. Waiting until the end of the first trimester has proven very difficult as my morning sickness has kicked into high gear and there's something a little conspicuous about getting up in the middle of a meeting to run to the bathroom - at least when you do it umpteen times a day. Cannot wait for the second trimester, when everyone keeps telling me i'll feel better...

Hi congrats to you both on the pregnancy I am due Oct 25th with baby # 2. Yes the 2nd trimester is going to be so much better although I have been lucky with no morning sickness so far. Just have to keep exercising although with this pregnancy I have been napping every afternoon because i just get so tired.

I've been trying to exercise as well but I'm afraid I'm spending more time napping than anything. My muscles are sore from the lack of movement...any recommendations on good pregnancy massages that won't break the bank?

LKF during my first pregnancy I went to this place in TST on Canton road I have been going to this massage place for 8 years. Throughout my first pregnancy I went every week. Its not your typical spa just a room with a massage table but the masseuse was good. Cost only HK$100 an hour I mean they knew that i was pregnant so took extra care.

HK 100/hr?!? Where is this place? I guess the further you get from Central, the better price you'll get. Did they use pillows or did they have a table with a hole? I usually go to Happy Foot for foot massages but have heard freaky stuff about a reflexology point near the ankle that helps contractions? Would this make a difference if I'm only in my 1st trimester? I wonder if it would be OK to get a back/shoulder/neck massage only on one of those chairs...

hospital booking confirmed??

I'm due October 20 and am having problems getting a confirmed hospital booking on the HK island side. I have not given birth in HK before. Have you all gotten your confirmations? Should I be worried?

LKF yeah 100 bucks pretty good. Its a massage table with a hole for the face but since we are preggers no use really. They usually just give me a pillow to hug. Reflexology i go to as well I will tell them I am pregnant so that they avoid certain pressure points. I am going Sunday for a 2 hours massage let me get the name of some reliable masseuses. At this place they only speak Cantonese . Its along Canton road opposite Louis Vuitton.

HKM2, I am due Oct 28 and book Matilda but have not received any confirmed booking yet. I am not sure if I should be worried remember with baby # 1 did not have to go thru this reservation, advance payment system.

I'm also with Matilda but haven't received a confirmation either. The Dr.'s assistant tells me I'm confirmed and not to worry, but I need to make sure!

Dr Rogers who works there as well. But I'm considering changing due to lack of follow up. Last week I was panicking since my symptoms completely changed from one day to another. I left a message with his assistant but he never called me back. Given this is my 1st pregnancy, I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I would've loved a call back just for reassurance...

With Dr Ghosh for the second time. Really like him and he spends quality time. When I found out i was pregnant my beta hcg count results was low so the nurse called me and suggested I have another blood test in a week. Suggest I have it done in Tung Chung and fax results to his clinic. Dr Ghosh immediately called just to reassure the count was going up and told me to relax so it was very reassuring.

FYI, I just received my email confirmation; they had my email misspelled and said they had sent confirmation since March 9th! We only have 28 days to pay the deposit after receiving confirmation....
I suggest you call Matilda directly.

hi all,

Morning sickness still shocking, just had my 12week scan today - very exciting!!! The litte person was wiggling around - nuts to think that i grew that 6weeks ago it was just a little blob. I think i must be the only one out of you all that's delivering at a public hospital, on the dark side no less - but i knew i'd be one of the few. all good.

LKF i'm with Dr Rogers also, i haven't had any problem with him but i can see where you're coming from.

Also FYI I was so desperate with my morning sickness i went to get acupressure at a Mother's Touch. Was really worth while, expensive but i got to chat about all sorts of things with Liz -she's also a doula so was great to just chat about life in general which is difficult to do with Obs. They also do great preg massage, after the first session its 450... but they have special chairs and the whole nine yards, i felt very reassured.

I have changed my doubts about Dr. Rogers; we had a D&C yesterday since we went for our 12 week scan and saw the baby stopped growing after approx 8 weeks. Dr. Rogers was very straight and to the point and didn't sugarcoat anything. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
So this is me signing off and wishing all of you the best of luck with your bundles of joy.
Take care.

LFK - so very sorry to hear your news and best of luck with your next try.

Others - I'm due 20 Oct and am waitlisted for Matilda. Foolishly waited until I was already 9 weeks and there's a thread on the pregnancy forum saying someone else due in Oct is no. 12 on the waitlist! And I am sure I tried to book after her. Anyway, have a backup booking at Adventist, I think, although haven't had it confirmed through my ob's clinic. Have heard lots of people say he Matilda booking comes through later. 12 week scan this Friday and feeling nervous. Husband even worse!

LFK - that is awful news. Really sorry to hear that, I wish you all the best for everything in the future. Dr Rogers seems like the type to be pretty straight up, I'm glad he didn't make it any harder for you both.

Played my last netball game on Monday night and had a few falls, which i thought nothing of until one of my friends came up afterward looking horrified. Not that i can do much about it now... anyway just swimming and a bit of boxing (on a bag - they can't hit back after all!!) from now on.
