Starting night feed again at 13 months

Hi All,

My son is almost 14 months - he has not been taking night feed since he was 9 months. His last feed being at 10ish and the next in the morning at 6:00ish. These are the only two milk feeds he has and otherwise has normal food, since he was 11 months.

About a couple of weeks back he was down with bad gastro-viral. Since recovering he started asking for an extra feed at 3:00 ish. Since he had lost weight and was making up for the same, we gave him milk as and when he asked. This continued for 5 nights or so and then eased. However, since a week now he has been getting up at 3:00ish and taking a feed. He is very insistent and has almost 8-9 ounces in the night.

His weight is good now and his solids intake is good as well. He is very active and otherwise doing well. He takes cows milk.

I was wondering has anybody faced this ? Should we just go with the flow and he would one day stop waking up at 3:00 for milk ? Or do we need to break the habit ?

Thanks ...
S

i would gradually cut down... if he's now having 9 oz, then tonight, give 7 oz... the next night, give 5-6 oz, etc.... when you get down to 1-2 oz, make it VERY watered down, then gradually eliminate the milk altogether.
