Hi everyone!

Has anyone recently given birth at St Paul's Hospital in Causeway Bay? I've been accepted by St Paul's Hospital and Canossa but I need to put in a deposit soon so I've got to make a choice. I've read a few reviews on Canossa but nothing on St Paul's so I'm hoping I can get an opinion from mommies who have recently given birth there. Thanks!
 
I used to go to St Paul on my first pregnacy, which ended up in miscarriage. So I don't have experience giving birth there. But I did have bad experience with the hospital... Nothing against the doctors, but I did think the hospital needed improvement. For example, the consultation rooms for Obgyn were next to those for internal medicine. When I went there, an old man was sitting next to me coughing his lungs out. I ended up caughing his flu or whatever it was. Also some of the nurses and receptionists were quite rude..... But of course, that was 5 years ago... It may have improved.

I gave birth at St Pauls in April 2009. Whilst the actual delivery was great as I was using the obstetrician I'd been with all the way through (the wonderful Dr Poddar at OT&P), I found the after care at St Pauls more difficult. If you speak Cantonese then you should have no problem but as a foreigner it was hard. The rooms are fairly nice (not up to the slick standards of the Matilda) but they were big and quiet. However, it was hard to understand anything that was going on, I didn't get the breastfeeding support I would have liked (probably due to the language barrier) and I probably wouldn't deliver there again.
