Spinal vs epidural for c-section

I am scheduled to have my c-section on Friday and a bit nervous even though my first baby was delivered via an emergency c-section. I had an epidural for my first however my doctor advise that I was be having a spinal for baby# 2 ? My only concern is what if the spinal wears off before the c-section is completed. Anyone experience both? and able to shed some light on the difference between a Spinal and epidural.. just a little nervous.

I haven't had an epidural but have had 2 spinals. The first for an emergency c-section the second for a scheduled one. Both procedures took a maximum of around 30 -45 mins in the operating room and I didn't start getting feeling back until more than half an hour or so after that and that was only just the slightest tingling in the toes. They will administer the spinal and then as it takes they will check you can't feel anything with ice. Once you can't feel anything they start the procedure and confirm you can't feel anything.

A spinal from what I understand is designed to last longer than an epidural.

Good luck for Friday. I'm sure everything will go well.
