Skin rash

Hello ladies,

Did you experience some sort of rash on your body/hand during pregnancy? I was told I have mild dermatitis which is common during pregnancy. I've been using Cetaphil or vaseline which seems to help from time to time.

Has anyone tried Physiogel AI cream or know whether is safe to use?

Thanks

I myself broke out in full body hives a few weekends ago unlike anything I'd ever experienced before pregnancy. However, this was possibly caused by a food allergy (to raw zucchini) which can develop during pregnancy. I had never had problems with zucchini before. I saw my GP and she prescribed a pregnancy safe antihistamine that cleared it all up in 2 days. I few of my friends with severe Eczema swear by Aquaphor. Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you thekimber.
I never had skin problem before and not allergic to anything. Was just told our pregnancy hormone can change few things around including our skin condition. Just trying to stay moisturise as much as possible, and also been given steroid cream 1% to stop the itching when needed. But it really isn't doing much as is so light.
Anyway, got to keep hanging on, I am always counting down the days! :)

Same here, very itchy, can't sleep well :(
Used pinetarsol for shower , a bit better, my legs , feet and hands are the worst

Hi maggie625,
Have you mentioned this to your OB cause I remember he said some people may need further tests when it gets aggressive. I also wake up sometimes scratching myself so I have the moisturizer on my bedside as soon as I need it.
Hope you feel better soon!

I've had something similar come up in the last few days starting on my belly and hands. It started as tiny red bumps on the knuckles then spread all over my hands including the palms, then feet, in between toes and the soles, now its everywhere! And really itchy.

Using Pinetar soap and oil helps and cider vinegar soothes the itching. My GP recommended an oral antihistamine and some steroid cream but the rash has spread so much that I'm not bothering with the cream anymore. Because of the constant itching I've hardly slept at all getting 2-3 hours a night.

Off to see the OB tomorrow to see what she makes of it.

Hi, yes she gave me more antihistamines and they help me sleep, so a good result!
Must resist the urge to scratch because once I start, the itch scratch itch cycle is hard to break.

Am 36 weeks now so not long to go. Hope yours is under control.

Good to hear your getting some sleep. Mine is still around (comes and goes) I moisturise as much as I can, it does itch at night but I try not to scratch it.
36 weeks and your almost there, good luck :)
