short term accommodation

Does anyone know of any clean/decent but cheap hostels/hotels/service apartments in the Central/Western/Pokfulam district.

Most offer a monthly package but we only need a basic room with shower for 2 weeks. My son will be in hospital at the Queen Mary so I just need a place close by to rest instead of travelling hours each day. Thanks.

Hi,

Last time when my son was in hopistal "Santorium" in happy valley, I stay in a hotel (very closed) - just walk in- to Santorium, it cost about HKD500-600 dollor per day, I am not sure if you can bargin further for around 2 weeks stay. I think it is good as I don't need to travel to Kowloon.

mumsy, I hope your son's hospital stay was faster than expected.

Did you manage to find the accomodation you looked for? Would love to hear what you came across.

SyL - i totally forgot about this thread so sorry for the late reply.

In the end, we didn't need the accommodation because I slept at the hospital and showered at a friend's place.

When I was researching, the cheapest hotel I found was the Ramada Hotel which cost around $500 per night (or $3K for 7 nights) and the Queen Mary minibus conveniently stops just outside it.

Other hotels in the western/sheung wan area were generally over $1K per night.

There were cheaper guesthouses around but they were in smaller buildings so I wasn't sure how safe they were or if there were dubious activities going on! I definitely wouldn't have felt comfortable staying there anyway.
