Shoes for Baby

My LO has just started walking, and in a couple weeks time I will be going home for the summer. I want to wait until then to get him some proper fitted walking shoes. They will be cheaper at home and the selection will be better than startrite

Was thinking I could get him some baseball boots, which might have a bit more support around the ankle to tie us over.....it will only be for walking outside, no shoes for in the house.

What do you Moms think??

Shoes are for protection, so only wear them where that fits. Not sure why you need extra ankle protection. Is there some sort of problem?
What are "baseball boots"?

don't know whether you will have the same problem, but when I put my daughter in shoes with sides up to the ankles, she found it hard to walk, as she could not bend properly when walking. Ended up she just wore that particular pair once and I had to get her new ones.

I was advised by a friend who is a podiatrist not to put babies in shoes unless they are soft leather shoes until they have been walking steadily on their own for six weeks.

we also were told that toddlers should wear soft leather shoes for the first 6-8 weeks.

hi all, my baby is just starting to walk and would love to know which brands of soft leather shoes you could recommend and where I can get them.

:thanks
