Shipping boxes from California to Hong Kong

We are moving to Hong Kong this summer from northern California. I need to ship out a couple of boxes of household goods, but can't seem to find information on guidelines. In particular, I'm concerned about box sizes, weight, value of goods...anything that would help avoid complications with customs. I would appreciate any insight.

what kind of household goods are you planning on shipping, because really everything you want/need is available here and for the cost of shipping, you might be better off just buying new.

as for customs etc.... hk is VERY laid back. so long as you are not planning on "importing for sale" then you should be fine. many people bring entire containers over.
