September moms?

Hi Everyone and Sandy,
thanks for your e-mail. It is so nice to hear from you. Glad that you are enjoying the nice weather back home. The weather in HK is quite unbearable.
I have been staying active and enjoying my pregnancy. So far I don't have any back pains (yet) nor swelling. I have gained about 12 pounds and at the beginning of my 28th week now.
I just signed up for an antenatal class at Annerley. Anybody who's due in September, please consider signing up there. If so, I'll see you there.

My husband and I signed up for an antental class with "The Family Zone" and start June 13th.

Did anyone else, who is giving birth at QM, try to sign up there for their class only to be told the English class was full?

I am due September 16th... little girl!

Antenatal classes and QM hospital

Hi Canucker,
are you giving birth at QM? How did you get in? I am on the waitlist at Matilda and it's quite unsettling not to know exactly where I am going to give birth so I am also considering QM. Did you get yourself a space there very early on? I wonder if I can switch or try to get in there ALSO so that I will have a secured spot somewhere.
I already paid for my class at Annerley. If I only knew earlier that someone in this group has signed up for another class. Anyway, we can still exchange notes from our classes and also meet up some time next month when I get back to HK.

Btw, my due date is on September 5 and I THINK I am carrying a boy (haven't confirmed it with my doctor yet and my husband doesn't want to know).

Yoga classes

HI Everyone,
has anybody joined or currently in a yoga class for pregnant women in HK? I know that Sandy signed up for one in Canada. I am just doing yoga following a DVD these days. If someone can find a good yoga place, maybe interested expecting moms can sign up together.

Hi, everyone!

I am planning to have my baby boy at QM on Sept 11.
My husband and I signed up for Annerley for antenatal class.
(It was for July calss originally, but due to schedule difficulty,
we changed it to private class in June.)

For Yoga, I have not joined any class due to busy work
schedule but I know few places.

1. Pure Yoga --> they have class for pregnant women
2. I do not know the name of the Yoga stuido but I was recommended by other mums. --> 2971-0055 (ask for Gary)
3. BET Pilates Services --> This Pilates stuido is highly recommended
by one of my mummy friend. 2868-5170

Is anyone meeting up anytime soon? I would love to meet up
with other mums to be!

As soon as I found out I was pregnant I signed up at QM and have been going there since day one... no insurace to cover the costs of going private.

But at the birthing class I just started taking there are 12 couples and 9 are planning on giving birth at Matilda. The one couple is due in about 3 weeks and JUST THIS WEEK they got a spot confirmed at Matilda... so don't give up! Another woman has been going private with her appointments but will give birth at QM. I'm not sure what else I can tell you but don't give up, I'm sure a space will open up. There was an article in the SCMP this week about how Baptist is looking at taking a HKD$6,000 deposit b/c so many women are double and triple booking spaces and causing headaches for others like yourself who just want to book one space.

But I'm sure some of the more experienced women on this site can offer you some advice about signing up at QM.. it's my first so I am kind-of new at this.

thanks for your reply and sharing your experience. I am not THAT worried about the space at Matilda because my OB is quite sure that she can either get me in there or refer me to QM during my last few weeks. Thanks for the tips though. Take care. Let's try to organize a get together in July.

i'm due in sept as well....am currently doing my antenatal classes at annerly and have one more left to do....it's quite interesting, though a bit overwhelming with the labour part of it.

let me know if you guys are meeting up...i'm on hk side and will be delivering up at the matilda.

first of all r17, maybe we were in the same class cos I was in the July Annerley Babies and Beyond class. Anyway...
Now I am back in HK, I am interested in meeting up with women in this group. I am near Cyberport/ Pokfulam and is willing to go to anywhere on the HK side. Anybody interested in meeting up?
