I started posting without a self-intro - what a terrible breach of nettiquette. Sorry.
I am a resident of HK now for more than 10 years and have 2 kids aged 5 and almost 7.
I'm from the USA, but my DH is a Hong Kong guy who I met here when I came to work here .
I am a WOHM (work-outside the home mama) and have participated in many electronic forums on childrearing, starting w/ misc.kids on the Usenet back in 1995.
In addition to my work I am notw pursuing an MPhil degree in sociology at HKU studying pregnancy and birth in HK.
My kids are now bilingual in English and Cantonese, but it has been a struggle. We send the kids to the local schools.
I hope to contribute to the forums and learn some things too.
