To be honest, stretch marks completely depend on YOU. I would guess that with twins you would get them because you do get so much bigger, however it really depends on the elasticity of your skin and things like that. There's no hard and fast rule for stretch marks.

Thanks for your info/!

My Wife is now in her 8th month and no stretch mark appear, hope this will continue!

Fingers crossed for you. I didn't get them til two weeks before delivery! I was so mad - to go that long and not get any and then two weeks to go... I only got a couple however so I can't complain and they as good as disappear in a couple of months.

Khiel's Nourishing Cream

our genetics play a big part on our stretch marks, and i truly envy those who don't have any! not to sound boastful, my skin's always in great condition; not prone to zits and breakouts... but nevertheless, i wasn't spared from STRETCH MARKS!!!

i'm currently 6th months on the way, to my 3rd child, and i've already got a few, new marks just above my naval! they are not at all "itchy" though, comparing to my previous pregnancies, thanks to this great body cream i've discovered from khiel's. i just walked in the store and asked the sales people if they had anything for stretch marks (which they didn't have) but they did recommended me this nourishing cream that magically stopped all the itching. i do believe though that investing on a good cream does help reduce deeper stretch marks that are caused by scratching. (i guess that's how i got my old ones... i avoided scratching, no matter how itchy, but apparently i've no control over my hands while asleep :Fsleepy: )

kelshiu, your wife is very lucky not to have any marks on her 8th month, but its not certain yet that she will be spared! buy her some creams, not necessarily for stretch marks which are really a rip-off, but get her something that relieves excessively dry skin, which keeps the skin nourished all day, and is not greasy at all... something like what i got!

My wife will be due next month, and no scretch yet, good luck to her!!
She is wearing the cream by Dermatologist now.

My friend had stretch marks after delivery. She used pure almond oil and it worked like a miracle. All stretch marks were gone. Just one think that she dint like was the smeel of pure almond oil. :P

hi everyone there. it's so glad that i finally have access to this website.. as ever since i came to ShenZhen, my internet server was barred from accessing this website.. i don't know why. (however i later doubt that it might be this website does criticise about CHINA..so it was barred..) hope that it's ok now and in the future..

yea.. referring to stretch mark, i started using Palmer's Massage Cream that with cocoa butter formula since the beginning of my pregnancy.. it's much cheaper in Malaysia, and when i had finished my 1st tube, i couldn't find it at all in ShenZhen.. wow!! it really drove me crazy due to the itchiness.. and also the availability of imported goods in SZ..then my husband asked his mother to send it over to us from malaysia..unfortunately as at todate we have yet to receive the parcel!! oouuchhh!!! being in SZ, the mentality and the civilisation of the locals really annoy me!! we begin to accept that the whole parcel of which not only contains what i was desperately waiting for but also other goods that were thoughtfully bought by my mother-in-law had been 'confiscated' (which means stolen) by dear china ppl...gosshh!!
ok, let's talk back the stretch mark...thanks to my hubby, he went to bought the cream for me from HK.. yet its price is about triple of what we paid for in malaysia.. it does solve the itchiness though.

and now, just today.. i realise something aweful happened to my abodomen.. there is red cum blue and purple colour veins appear on my abdomen!! i am now 28 weeks pregnant.. i never notice of the veins appearing before until today.. i am so upset now..

Can anyone please enlighten me what is this? and why does it appear? will it go off after delivery or it will stay there (and become more and more) for the rest of my life?? it is becos of i did stretch my arms high to hang clothes and put things in the cupboard etc.. and also i did carry heavy things when i do my marketing.. i do mop the floor and also squad down brushing the bathroom's floor..

So, what should i do now??? deeply depressed.

Good news!! my wife has NO scretch mark after she gave birth and my babies are so healthy too.
They are 5lb 8 and 5 lb 10

I had no stretchmarks with my first, but now I'm carrying twins I have horrible ones around my tummy-button (and my tummy-button has gone red too...urghh!). They started at about 6.5 months, but I've been using the new Clarins stretchmark cream and it seems quite good.

Do you think it is age related?

No, you can get them at any age and there is NO miracle cream or else we would all know about it. If a company really made a miracle cream and could prove that it worked they would do so because it would mean billions or dollars a year for them.

You're either going to get them or you're not and most women do, even supermodels.

Kelshui, I wanted to say that you seem unreasonably focused on whether your wife will or won't get stretchmarks. (i see she's had her babies now) If my husband went onto forums to inquire about stretchmarks I'd be pretty angry. It seems an extremely superficial focus given that your wife is building your family! I hope she was able to enjoy her pregnancy without worrying about what you think of her phsyically. Pregnancy is a tough time, our bodies change out of our control and the last thing we need is a man commenting endlessly on the less attractive changes to our body. Being able to make a baby is a miracle but no one will exit it completely unscathed. Guess what? Your wife may not have gotten stretchmarks but her body will still be changed forever in subtle or not so subtle ways.

Well put aussiegal! If my hubby were to make so much as a snifle of a comment on my physical appearance during pregnancy, I'd throw something at him...let alone harp on negativities like stretch marks etc...

Yes, I agree itching has nothing to do with stretch marks, I itched terribly (boobs and tummy) with my 1st child from the middle of my 2nd trimester onwards but didn't have any stretch marks, it's just good sensible practice (whether you get them genetically or not, why help nature along right?) to keep parts of your body that gets stretched in the whole process well and truly moisturised!

..I had my stretch marks after giving birth(not twins). It was situated really low, can be covere by my underwear--so it's fine with me! they say not to scratch your tummy when it feels itchy.
