Recommendation for Camcorder

Hello folks,
I'm about to start a search for a reasonable-priced highly-usable camcorder for filming family stuff -- you know kids concerts, birthday parties and the like. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or tips, and any positive or negative experiences to help me find the right one.

Hi, we are contemplating on SonyHDR CX150E bcos its a HD and very sleek model. I guess this is a good model if you have a good digital camera and looking for a video one only. Any reviews from users?
