Hi, I was wondering if anyone has recently (say post-2013) given birth at the Queen Mary Hospital staying in the private or semi-private ward and could share how much their total bill upon discharge was?
I was originally booked for Matilda, however my baby has been diagnosed with congenital heart defects which will require surgery at Queen Mary Hospital shortly after birth. Thus, I now have to give birth at Queen Mary instead. Which is fine, but I figure no point in wasting the private maternity health insurance I've already bought so I would like to deliver at the Queen Mary as a private patient if budget allows.
I have spoken to the Hospital and they require a deposit of HK$150,000 upon admission. That's about the maximum my insurance will cover so I'd like to get an idea of whether the total bill is likely to substantially exceed HK$150,000? Grateful if any mums with past experience could response! Many thanks in advance.
