QBB Baby Cheese

Trying to introduce cheese to my 9 mth old bub. Has anyone tried QBB baby cheese? it's Japanese cheese. On the packaging it says it contains natural cheese (milk) and emulsifies (soya lechitin). Not sure if it's pasteurized. Should i just stick to cheddar? Thanks :flower:

I saw this too. My friend has been giving it to her baby daily from he was 6 months in mashed potatoes, he seems fine. Yet since like you, I don't know how it has been made, what nutrients it contains, I haven't given it to my bb yet.

Is it ok to give regular cheese? I guess it would have to be cooked?

I gave to my 16 months QQB cheese recently. When he was much yonger like your LO's age, I gave him a party cube cheese a day.

I gave mine organic cream cheese (Horizon from 360) from 8 mos which mixes very well with all sorts of other foods (cold and heated). Also cubes of organic mild cheddar as finger food.

noc,

Party cube cheese - you can find this in almost all supermarket here in HK. It is written in the package "party Cube Cheese' which some serve at party with fruits and crackers. It has 3 flavor but I only gave the plain ones to my son with chop up grapes or apple (puree if no teeth or below one), pear, banana or just the cheese. I think it is under Cheddar Brand. I like it because it is small cube, just nice for baby. But after 12 months, he asked for more so i gave 2 or 3 cubes a day. But since i found QBB in Taste and it is bigger cube so i bought it instead of party cube. One a day is really enough for a 16 months.

dear ms cheerful, oh i know, it is the laughing cow one! i didn't know we could give babies that! do you melt it before putting on the fruit?

Leah,

The organic cream cheese sounds like a good idea. Could you elaborate on what Horizon from 360 means?

Thanks a lot

Kate

The brand of cream cheese is horizon from the supermarket 360 in the landmark. (a red and white tub)

It's great, goes with everything. Esp good as the protein bit of lunch if there is no meat/fish/chicken handy and in pasta sauce.

we never bought any special "baby" cheese. and we virtually never buy organic, we just can't afford it as we LOVE cheese and eat a lot of it.

both of my kids eat all kinds of cheese, there's no special requirements, at least not after one year of age.

I also gave my baby the QBB baby cheese before, used to buy it in Citysuper or Sogo, however, it's very hard to find it now.

No I don't melt it but cut up to small pieces and let him 'gum' it but if your are concern and would like to try it, then i would suggest you melt it a little.

Plenty of of QBB cheese at Taste Supermarket. Sometimes it goes on sale - two packs for $16.90. I got 4 packs the other day. It also came in few flavors, one of them is chocolate flavor... wonder how it taste?

360 also sells organic baby swiss cheese, it's less salty and quite mild, perhaps it can be another option.
