Processing New FDH's Contract

my current helper has gotten married so she is waiting for her husband to apply to the immigration for her dependent visa.

while waiting, i've found a new helper but she needs me to sign her contract within this week.

can i apply for the new helper even though the current helper is still with me? or, will the immigration not allow the process of the new helper's contract because i still have another helper under me (but in the process of leaving me).

has anyone gone through this before?

i would have called the immigration if i was not at work and thought the lovely geo-ladies would be faster in replying than an immigration officer picking up my phonecall. ;)

I have done it. It's not a problem. When you are filling out the forms, make sure to tick that she will be replacing your current helper and you are not hiring 2 helpers. I don't think they mind if there's an overlap of helpers. Our old helper was immigrating to the US last year, and was waiting for her visa. Her replacement arrived in Sept, and the old helper got her visa in December.

you are allowed to have two (or more) helpers if you can justify it (lot of kids, lot of work, lot of travel, financial stability etc). it's not a probem at all.
