Hi,
Anyone has seen Dr.Doo/Dr Leong (Women's Clinic) for prenatal checkup but delivered at public hospital? Is this ok to do and are private doctors open to this? Any experience appreciated.
Thanks

I went to Dr Doo and I did talk to him about public hospital delivery and he was fine with that. Wrote me a letter for Queen Mary's as well so they knew that I was seeing a private Dr and what scans I had and how many weeks pregnant I was. He was very helpful.

He was my Dr for the first 26 weeks of pregnancy and then I switched.

I saw Dr. Leong & though he delivered my baby at a private hospital, I know he is open to public because there was a point when I couldn't confirm a private hospital space, the nurses actually asked if I would consider going public...

Thanks 'paddles' and 'lylee' for your replies.

lylee - if possible, can you share your experience with Dr Leong in terms of delivery. thanks so much!

i thought dr. leong was great & liked him a lot. i was in quite a lot of pain by the time he arrived, but do still remember him trying to lighten up the situation with funny remarks. according to all the nurses, he did a really good job in stitching up my tear/episiotomy... i was out of bed that very evening & felt fully recovered within a week. during his hospital visits, he was always very kind & caring. making sure i wasn't suffering from ppd, asked how my baby was, reassuring me jaundice is very common in babies etc... the thing i was most impressed was that even though he signed my release a day earlier, he still came to visit the morning we were leaving the hospital (and did not charge for that visit). personally, i have not seen dr. doo, but heard that his & dr. leong's style are totally different. i'm sure both are great doctors, so you should choose whoever you are most comfortable with.
