Just wondering if anyone had their child vaccinated with Prevenar for prevention of pneumococcal? Where can you get it and how much did it cost? My son is now 15 months and we will be back to Canada. I'm not sure if I should be getting it done here OR iin Canada. Any suggestions are welcome.
 
My daughter got her prevanar shots by Dr. Ou. I believe they were about 1300 each time. She got it done 3 times.
 
Prevenar is getting more popular in Hong Kong now. I even see some GPs offer Prevenar vaccine. It may be cheaper to get it done in GP clinic but I am not sure. My daughter had hers for HKD700 per shot in Paediatrician's office.
 
We got ours done at our pedia... I believe it was $700 per shot. In some western countries (Canada included), Prevenar is compulsory, but I don't know if it will be cheaper there, esp. if you don't have Medicare.
