I took Materna for the first trimester but by the second I was so worn down and knew my body wasn't getting enough of what it needed. I opted to go with USANA Essential vitamins (their HK office is on the 25th floor of the World Trade Centre in Causeway Bay) which are more raw (which means more easily absorbed by the body) and more complete than almost every maternal vitamin out there (except they are not marketed as maternal vitamins)--wherever the vitamin was lacking, I just made sure to get the nutrients through diet or other supplementation--including calcium lactate and slow-release iron pills. I never used the maternal powder because, honestly, they really look unappetizing to me (as does Ensure--I drank part of one once and was repulsed).
