Pregnant... now what?

Hi all,

I have taken three home pregnancy tests and they have all come back positive. I called the doctor's office and asked about coming in for a pregnancy test and they said all they would do was a similar test... I thought they would do a blood test.

Anyways, I figure I am about 5 weeks along... can anyone suggest a doctor I should go to to confirm my pregnancy? Should I just go to my regular doctor and ask them to suggest another one to go to? I feel great, no spotting, but my breasts are pretty sore.

Just my husband and I know I am pregnant (first time) and I don't want to ask any friends or family members this question because we don't want to get anyone excited just yet because a good friend of ours just lost her baby at 6 weeks.

Don't know what to do,

Congratulations!! Our Dr told us that home pregnancy tests are fairly accurate and we didn't do a blood test either. Wait till you're about 7 weeks and then make an appt with your Dr. He should do an u/s and you can hear the baby's heartbeat. Also get some folic acid from your nearest pharamacy ASAP and take one a day!

Thanks very much! We ran out right away and bought the pre-natal vitamin MATERNA and I have been taking one every day since. I didn't know they did u/s at 7 weeks, but will make an appointment for one.

Is there a list of obgyn doctors somewhere - b/c I am guessing I will have to pick one.
