Pregnant and moving to Hong Kong - need advice

Hi all,

I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and we are moving from London to Hong Kong the beginning of December.

I will have had my prenatal appointments here and scan but how do I then transfer myself to the Hong Kong system? Can anyone give me advice on the next steps I muest take and whether I need to organise anything before i actually get to hong Kong?

We also have a standard private health care but I know private is very expensive and I think ours covers up to 25k for standard delivery, so we are thinking of doing half publiv half private. Again any advice on thsi would be much appreciated.

HK$25K will not get you very far if you deliver in a private hospital. You can definitely put that towards prenatal care. Would recommend popping into Annerley when you get here. They do free info sessions every week.
