pregnancy check ups

Can any one help. I have a friend visiting HK for a couple of months who needs a couple of routine check ups. When I was pregnant i went the government route but I assume she will have to go private.
Does any one know any reasonably priced doctors?

don't know of any "reasonably priced" specialists of any description. as she would need an actual OBGYN, rather than a GP, she'll have to pay for it.

from my understanding, an appointment can cost anywhere from $700 -1500...not including tests or scans.

sorry, i , too used the public system.

she could check:

Dr. Doo
Dr. Fergussan
Dr. Lord
Dr. Ghosh
Dr. Derek Lo

those are the only names I can think of off the top of my head. But, i seem to recall that there is a listing of drs on this website. She could go through the list and call around. I'm sure a "local-local" dr would be cheaper.

I have found that there are 3 strata of drs here:

1) cheapest~ locally born, locally educated
2) medium~ locally born, overseas educated
3) most expensive~ overseas born, overseas educated
 
dr. belinda leung, costs about hkd500 per visit, but always fully booked..
dr. rose tse about 1k per visit - tel 3791 2323
dr. lam yung hang , about 1.2k per visit - tel 2877 3280

i have seen dr. lam for oscar test.. and dr rose tse for my regular check up.. both are good.
never get a chance to see belinda.. she is too fully booked..
 
I went to Union hospital and saw Dr. Ng. It was about $700 incl ultrasound.
I also saw a local Dr. in Mei Foo - he`s apparently a gyno - are they all ob/gyns or just gynos. Anyway, I saw him relating to my baby - he`s also got a child`s health certificate. His cost is $270. PM me if you are interested for his contact # to call and find out more.
 
i believe that most are both, OBs and GYNs as OBs deal with pregnancy and GYNs deal with women's medicine. many times these are inextricably linked.
