Pregnancy at Union Hospital

Can anyone give me any advice/experience with Union Hospital? I'm new to HK and still learning about private/public healthcare options here. This is also my first pregnancy. I want an experience that is close as possible to natural and would prefer no c-section unless no other option. Is the staff at Union pro natural birth?

The Dr that you opt for is the one who will make the final call if you need a C-section or not.

Thanks Rani, the thread is a few yrs old so I was hoping someone had a more recent experience. I've read that private hospitals push c-sections when compared to public but I wanted to hear people's experience. I'd rather a more natural process. Also, do you know if they will allow my husband and my own midwife in the delivery room or am I only allowed one person?

Think you're allowed 2 but not sure. You can go for a tour and am sure some of these questions will be answered.

If you would like a natural birth, best to find a Dr who supports this and he will have the final say and not the hospital.

thank you Rani for your help. Would you by any chance know of any doctors (or point me to the thread) that would have more options for Union/Baptist Hospital. The only one on the list above looks like Dr. Belinda Leung, and I haven't read great reviews about her.
