Pregnancy advice

I feel pregnant with signs such as nausea, fatigue, back pain and full breasts. I got a little bit of spotting today, 2 days after my expected period. I have tried the home pregnancy test yesterday and today, still negative. Any advice on whether I am pregnant?

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. Do you know how accurate is the blood test and when should I go test? Also, how much does it cost?

i think that the blood tests are fairly accurate. no idea of what they cost though, both times i took the urine test at home it came back positive almost immediately. (the last one came back positive 4 days BEFORE my period was due!)

will you be MORe depressed if you continue thinking that you might be for another week and then finding out that you aren't or will you be more depressed finding out tomorrow that you are not?

if you are spotting, it is possible that it is implantation bleeding. i had some 4 days before my period was due. when i researched it on the internet, that's what it seemed to be. when i went to the dr at QMH, they called it a "threatened miscarriage" and sent me for an ultrasound at 6 weeks to see if the embryo was still there.

True. What is implementation bleeding? How different is it from period? So what happened afterwards? Did you have a healthy bb or was it a miscarriage?

implantation bleeding only happens to some women, some of the time. it happens when the embryo implants itself in the uterine wall.

i DID not miscarry, i'm 7 months pregnant. will possibly deliver as early as 23 jan!(6 weeks early)

Congrats. Any advice on how to get pregnant more easily? We have been desparately trying for the past few months but no good news yet. Have tried monitoring ovulation but not successful so far.

sorry, we have been lucky with both pregnancies. we literally talked about having a baby and i was pregnant within 3 weeks.

i've never had a miscarriage, but i have had TERRIBLE pregnancies. see my earlier thread about delivering at 34+ weeks.

some women have a hard time getting pregnant, some have a hard time staying pregnant, I have a hard time being pregnant.

Any advice as to how to get pregnant more easily apart from tracking ovulation? Desparately trying.

Any advice on why period cycle is getting shorter in the last 2 months of trying to conceive. It is 26 days now, have been on the dot of 28 days for as long as i can remember. Was so sure i was pregnant this time as i had lots of signs!!!!!but like they say it could all be pre MS symptoms. So depressed!!

Totally agree that waiting to check whether pregnant is the most depressing thing, especially when a slightly delayed period comes. I am trying everything I can to get pregnant but still seems unsuccessful.

Jen17,

How is your general health? Do you maintain a healthy weight (being underweight can be a problem); are your periods regular?

What about your DH? Does he eat well, get enough sleep, not wear underwear that would make his sperms less mobile?

I think I've read that only after 1 year of un-protected sex w/ no conception, should you visit a fertility doctor.

Also, don't forget to make love a lot ;)

Do it for fun, not just for reproduction. That way you two give your body more chances. :)

Finally, have you read that book "Taking charge of your fertility" - one of my relatives speaks well of it.
