Preconception vitamins

Hi

I'm a mother of a 1 year old little boy and we're planning to TTC very soon. I would like to take preconception/pregnancy vitamins as I did with our son (I was in Aus when I was pregnant with him and I took Blackmores). I've searched in Mannings and in Watsons and can't find any that are suitable.

Any one know where I can get some?

Hi Rooj, I'm pretty sure you can get Materna and Pregnacare at Watsons. Doctor's surgeries have their own dispensaries and may carry other brands, I got Elevit from Central Health (which I think is an Australian brand). B2B also carry some different brands. Can't promise Blakmores but it's worth having a look around - maybe health food shops also carry some other brands?
 
I second Bumps2Babes as suggested by jvn. I definitely saw some pre-conception vitamins in there (made in the UK).

I just took Materna which is available at Watsons or Mannings. I personally wouldn't bother with B2B as it's likely to be twice the price and twice the inconvenience for the exact same thing.
 
I would generally agree with you about B2B nicolejoy, but in the case of Pregnacare vitamins Mannings (IFC branch) was actually more expensive when I did a price comparison recently.
 
Yep. Central Health have Elevit. However, it's not exactly the same as the one you get in Oz, it's the Asian version (Oz is slightly better). If you go to Oz get the big boxes of Elevit. That's what I did when I went down to visit. Lasts a long time (exp date).
