Pre-Pregnancy Check Up at the Family Planning Asso of HK

Hi,

Im looking for feedback on the Pre-Pregnancy Check Up offered by the Family Planning Association of HK.
My Gyni has recommended that service as a cheaper alternative to the one she offers at her private practice.
I obviously understand that a Government run clinic cant really be compared to a private practice in terms of customer service experience. However, the price difference is pretty significant and worth looking into it.

Are the packages offered at the Family Panning Asso comprehensive enough?
Do you need to take on any other elective tests?
What is your experience going through it?

Do you have anything specific in mind that you want checked? I went to the Wan Chai clinic last year and found it extremely useless for me as a woman. They did a very basic blood test and urine test and I thought - wow , is that it? I somehow thought they would check hormones etc which they don't. I would not recommend it at all. However, if you are going as a couple, for the male partner they do a semen analysis which is cheap compared to private clinics and may be useful if thats something you want to get done.
 
To be more specific - for the women's assessment, they do not run any tests related to reproductive organs, if thats what you have in mind.
 
I think blood test might be useful to check for thalassaemia and rh+.

To be honest I'm not really sure what to test for. Never really try to get prego but thinking about it.

My gyni has given me this long list of tests that she usually suggests to get done to have throughout pre-pregnancy check up:
-Anaemia screening (iron profile, thalassemia check)
-Hepatite B
-HIV
-Syphillis
-Herpes Type II
-Chlamydia IgG
-Gonorrhoea DNA
-Rubella Immunity
-Chickenpox Immunity

It seems that the package 1 from the FPAHK would cover some of it for HKD840 and I could opt for additional test of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea for addition HKD400, which ends up to be HKD1240 for similar testing suggesting by my private gyni but for a fraction of the price. (I heard that HIV is tested by the hospital anyways and no need to check Chickenpox if you already caught it nor Herpes if you never had it).

Anyone knows what is really important to test ?
