Postnatal corset

They sell some at Eugene Club in Central. I also found that the "slimming shapewear" at Marks and Spencer was very good for holding things in, particularly 6 weeks after my c-section. Spanx are also good.

Spanx is good, but works better after your have already slimmed down and just want a smoother line.

Post-natal, if you would like to hold your tummy in, the Flexees girdle is good, you can get it from Private Shop.

Depends whether you want a 'heavy duty' corset or an easier option. I got a 'heavy duty' version from Mama1010 (i think that is the name.) they have a counter within Toys R Us in TST. You can get the full set (3 pieces, the body which cinches in your upper body, the waist corset, and a bermuda 'spanx like girdle). You only put it on after your wound has healed (if you have a c-section), the hospital will provide a standard elastic type girdle a few days after giving birth. Spanx was a great option when the weather is hot and when you cannot be bothered with the heavy duty girdle.
Basically all girdles work well, as long as you wear it. Many of my girlfriends bought many fancy girdles and only end up wearing it a couple of times as they found it too hot and stifling.

By the way the heavy duty version is really troublesome for loo visits... give yourself lots of time for getting it off and putting it back on! Good luck!

I recently had abdominal surgery (hernia repair) + excess skin removal and I have Marena. Have been happy with it (and had to wear it for 6 weeks).

can i ask a stupid question? I had c section 4 wks ago, but didnt get a corset/girdle/ binder. Whats the purpose of it. Do i still need one now?

hospital didnt give me one either.

all great advice ladies thanks alot, by the way have anyone tried yoga for pregnant moms? really curious about this class at PY.

yes, i have tried pre-natal yoga at PY, it was nice but the location was inconvenient for me especially the mad rush after work. It was not strenuous at all and sometimes I found it rather boring...

I was having a conversation about girdles the other day with my sister. Actually, after my son was born (over 2 years ago) I never even thought of wearing one. I gained a lot of weight with that pregnancy and have just now gotten to the point where I've shed most of the weight but I am wishing I had been wearing a girdle all along to help my belly go back in--I have a lot of extra, stretched-out skin now that makes my belly look bigger than it actually is. Has anyone had any luck with wearing a girdle later on that actually helps your belly go back in?

Try the belly bandit - available from baby central (their service is fantastic! they did same day delivery for me!)

you measure your tummy as it is in your 8th month - my sister swears by them!

Good luck :-)
