Does anyone know where I can buy portable air conditioners that don't need to be installed through a window? I don't think Fortress sells them.
 
I am not sure about air conditioners but we found a nice little cooler at SoGo that works well for small spaces. They probably will have something useful.
 
MLBW, I saw the coolers (they look like tower fans and you put ice packs in, right?) at Sogo over the weekend.

How well do they work? It seemed to be cool when we tested it, but I think it's just because the whole department store was air conditioned. Am also concerned because they are made in China and we have been warned to never buy any electronics that are made in China.

very true, but my relocation consultant who was chinese specifically said never to buy Midea (I am Chinese too!) as it will fall apart in 6 months.
 
then that is different if u know about the brand not being good then dont buy

just heard in the news today as of next year china will overtake USA as the largest manufacturing hub in the world with 17% of all world goods being manufactured in china
