just a few weeks ago, my baby has learnt to pull himself up to stand in the crib. we have lowered the bed however, he doesn't know how to get down from standing. we have been trying to teach him to squat, and he hasnt mastered it. what he does is do a free fall and hits his head against the crib's poles! i have tried putting bumpers, but that made it more dangerous, cos he actually used them to climb higher! we try to keep a hawk's eye on him... he only sleeps there in the day, and while he naps, i go do the chores and he doesnt make any sound when he gets up...until he knocks himself. :( :( :(

does anyone know how to "baby proof" this? will repeated knocks like this harm him :( im like this short of strapping him to me 24/7!

one more way to teach him to squat, which i learnt at pekip, is put toys on the foot level next to his foot when he's cruising. then he has to squat down to get the toy. within the next few days, he'll have learn to squat.

plu,s you can put loose bumpers, 1/2 way high of the height of the rails, so if he steps on the bumpers, the bumpers go down to the bed level & won't bring him higher.

good luck!
