Playtown

i just wanted to let everyone know... we went there today. there must have been 100+ kids there at the time.

we spent over 2.5 hours there and my kids LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

it didn't feel crowded. there was enough space for kids and parents. there was so much for the kids to do! it was difficult getting my kids to leave. (they are 2 & 4.)

i would HIGHLY recommend it!

go! have fun!

We went on Tuesday, also first time. Kids loved it as well, quite busy but not too busy at all. However, I still find it quite expensive, had to pay $320 for 3 kids (2 under 3 and 1 over 3 and it was public holiday / weekend). I wouldn't do it every week, but definitely great to do once in a while. We went to McDonalds for lunch downstairs and then back in for another hour.

yes, i agree. it's not something i could do every week, or even every two weeks... especially as we live so far, but i really liked it.

i said to hubby that i find when i go to ocean park, which we love, when it's very busy, i get a little anxious and stressed, however at playtown, i found it very relaxing for me and exhausting for the kids....

ps> i'm hoping for a 6:30pm bedtime tonight(for the kids)! LOL!

Playtown is great, isn't it? We love it, too. I love the fact that mommies can actually sit down and talk/relax there, while the kids have a blast. :)

it bugs me though, as it is EXACTLY what i wanted to set up about 5-6 years ago... i just didn't have mucho moola that you'd need for a place like that! phooey!

I know! My friend and I were just talking about how almost every mommy that we know has dreamed of starting something like this, but here is one mommy who actually did something about it! :)

Cara --you have your playgroup, though. Close! :)

i figure that the rent there must be at least $200K +... i think that the fittings must have set her back another cool million or so...

what do you think?

hey cara,

next time you go again, buzz me! we're getting our car by this weekend so I can follow you! coolz.....!

will do... probably not next week, perhaps the week after... either tuesday or friday (my days off)...

the owners are doing it as an extra business. he works for import/export company and lives in Belchers and wanted to do something extra and fun

ahh... wish i could do it as an "extra" too!

don't get me wrong, i'm EXTREMELY happy with what i do...but i have about 10 business ideas that i KNOW would succeed, just dont' have the cash to get them started... boo hoo!

our kids are at playtown today!

i think it is great value for money. most playgroups in hk are $80 for a drop in supervised session that lasts 2hrs...this lasts all day if you want it to!

My daughter loves playtown and so do I. We've been going there since she was 8 months old, even before she could crawl, but she enjoyed looking around, playing with new toys and interacting with other babies. I do not think this place is only for toddlers as someone mentioned in an earlier post. Infact there is a separate area with soft carpet for babies where bigger kids aren't allowed to enter. Its very good value for money $80 for the entire day. The staff is very friendly as well.

You can park at the Westwood Mall --same mall where Playtown is. You can get free parking if you consume x amount at the mall's restaurants or buy x amount from Wellcome and the stores in the mall. It's only $14 per hour otherwise, not bad.

Hi. We went to playtown yesterday with our 2yo and she had a blast. For those living in NT/Kowloon, they are opening a new centre in Kwun Tong in august. And its supposed to be bigger than this one.
