planning for second baby

Hi mums,

We are planning for our second baby. Was wondering for how second time mums, the baby arrived early, on time or late ? Are there any statistics showing this ? Thanks ! I know there is no guarentee and that it is only estimated, but would be interested to find out......

I am pregnant with my second and the ob told me that the 2nd normally arrive a few days to a week earlier than the 1st.

I don't think there is any scientific answer to this - it all depends. It's said, though, that your labour will get shorter with each subsequent birth.
I can't say as I had two C-sections. Both of mine were late.

#1 was 3 days late and #2 was 2 days late. I was told by a midwife that if the first one was late, chances are that the second one MIGHT be, too. True in my case. Don't know about labor being shorter the 2nd time around, but for #2, it was 12 hours; don't know for #1 as I was induced and then ended up with a C-section.
