Placenta previa experiences

Just been released from UCH after 2 days observation due to placenta previa at 28 weeks. Has anyone else had this problem in hk? Would love to hear standard hk practices. Seems I should expect a c-section at 38 weeks unless things get bad before then.

I had placenta previa but was not hospitalized because there was no bleeding. I continued with my regular activities including looking after my super active 3.5 year old toddler son. The position of the placenta is not a static thing, it can move away. I had decided to have an elective C-section anyway, but 2 days before my C-section, the ultrasound showed that the placenta had moved higher up as the baby's head had descended further down. Since it wasn't placenta previa technically anymore, I was allowed to proceed with my C-section on schedule at 39 weeks.

I had this with my first. Please don't worry!! The placenta does move and it will move as you get bigger. You have 12 weeks for it to move so please enjoy your pregnancy xx

Thank you ladies. I'm trying not to worry too much and I'm hoping things will improve. It's good to know it could still move up even so late in the day.

thanks sazzy, that's reassuring. I'm actually back in uch now on steroid injections because the bleeding started again - hopefully I'll be able to make it to 37 weeks.
