Wanted ur opinions.....Is it important for babies to rest their head on a pillow while sleeping? This is for my 22 month old toddler.

Thanks a lot!

My children started to use a pillow somewhere between three years and four years of age. Even now my five year old will sleep some nights without one - it doesn't seem to bother her if she has one or not.

Most doctors reccomend not giving your child a pillow until he/she is at least 3-4 years old and even when they are old enough for a pillow they say you should only use a small one, about the size of an airline pillow. If you are going to give your child a pillow make sure it is not a feather one because they are too soft.

One advantage of having a small pillow is as a comforting familiar object for when you are travelling, if your child does not have a cuddle toy or favourite blanket in bed that you would travel with.
