Phillipines Weekend Away - Alona? Anywhere else?

We are looking for a long weekend away from Hong Kong over the easter break. I quite like the look of Alona Beach in the Phillippines. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay, we have a 3 year old, would prefer somewhere with a swimming pool, not too expensive.

Also if anyone has any advise on Alona, is it too much hassle to get to just for 3 nights? Or any other advise would be greatly appreciated.

We are not stuck on Alona or even the phillippines so if anyone has any other places they think are good for a long weekend away please let me know.

we went to cebu and stayed at plantation bay at xma - great for kids as there are various freshwater lagoons or swimming pools the kids can play in plus waterslides - my daughter is only 1yr old but she really enjoyed it plus it was a direct flight by cathay pacific (2hrs i recall) and only 20mins from the airport to the hotel - then again its far from cebu city, around 1hr so if you are thinking of staying in the hotel for the whole holiday, then its great. No beach though.
