Petit Suisse OK for babies ?

I bought some Petit Suisse (a type of French cream cheese) at Great. I think the French like to give them to their babies. I just want to make sure that it is O.K. to give to my babies. My twins are now 9 months old. Does anyone know ?

Hi Clam.

My pediatrician does not suggest giving cheese to baby below one. However I didn't ask for further explaination as he was terribly busy at that time. I guessed it might be related to allergy or obesity.

Hi Clam,
Instead of cheese, how about natural Yogurt to get calcium they need? There is UK brand called YEO VALLEY which in my opinion is best yogurt around. It organic full fat and very creamy (.. not those watery types).

My 7th month old has 2x tablespoons of Yogurt in the afternoons and loves it.

It is sold at the larger ParkNShops, but not always in stock. Alternatively, it is also sold at GREAT.

Hi Clam

I agree with mary spc and give your little on plain yoghurt or Greek yoghurt which you can get from City Super or Great. You can even put fruit puree into it. I think that petit suisse has sugar in it and I gave it to my daughter who loved it very much. I even tasted it myself and found it sweet. So I just went back given her the plain/Greek yoghurt instead. She's now older and just eats one pot on its own even though there is no taste to it!

Hope that helps
