Besides settling the outstanding wages, holidays, annual leave and plane ticket...what does travel allowances mean? I got her a ticket and she told me she wants to leave on June 22 as she will get a 2 week visa extension from Immigration. I read that the travel allowance per day of $100 is to be given, does that mean I pay her that x 14 days? Obviously it's not the money that is the issue here but I don't want to owe her anything that I am required to pay by law.

Actually the HKD 100 travel allowance is normally for 1 day andshould cover ground transport door to door - i.e. the day that she travels back to her home. Its not for every day that she remains in HK cos she would not be your responsibility during that time. I understand normally 100 should cover all situations.

Just called the immigration to clarify matter. Konradsmom is right. Upon expiry of contract the dh is no longer your responsibilty. You just have to pay her travel allowance back home. Not her holiday or stay in hk after expiry of contract.
