Part time/ day time help urgent

Hello,

I am currently actively looking for work, have job interviews and do some freelancing.

Even do I have a permanent ID card, I cannot/ do no want to take a domestic helper until I get a work contract.
Indeed, I cannot guarantee I will stay in HK otherwise.

Now that is a very difficult situation as I have to care for my 22 months old son.

- Playgroup requires my/an helper presence
- Part time domestic helpers are illegal
- Part time domestic helper holding permanent ID Card are impossible to find
- Professional baby sitters are outrageously expensive (120$/hr)

How can I get free time daily while being sure my baby is safe, happy and taken care of?

need your most urgent advice
Thanks

Place a fee posting in the classified section "Helpers" of this web site and see what that shakes from the trees. Maybe there is another mom in the same boat who has just arrived here who could share childcare with you. You look after her's one day - then she looks after yours. You know.

We are generally a friendly lot in Hong Kong. Be brave and ask a neighbor or friendly looking face at the day care programme for help. Reach out girl.

Good luck

Thanks to all,

Actually I believe the issue is recurrent and would worth a section in "Ressources" listing.

Otherwise we are left with the traditional Get a maid+Apply for a visa story that everybody feature well enough.

Cheers

Ms. Minono,
I believe you can still hire a maid without your work contract, through your husband.

part time helper

Hi Minono,

There are lots of part time helpers about and I used a few before. You can check out Dollar Savers and there's bound to have a few ads posted by the helpers looking for part time jobs.

And as Dulce suggested, you can hire one through your husband's work contract and visa providing the Immigration with your marriage certificate copy plus last 3 months bank statements.

I am a permanent resident doing part-time domestic work. My daughter is visiting me at this time and wants full time domestic work. Maybe I can help you. Please call Emma at 6349 0114.
